Rural Women Unite

Since its inception, RWU has raised over $90,000 towards this vital service with the 2023 luncheon being our most successful year to date, raising $45,530. RWU luncheons are a day where rural women come together to enjoy a day of laughter, good food, shopping, friendly faces, opening the lines of communication regarding mental health, and to share life’s journey. RWU rely on the generous donations from major sponsors and businesses that provide items for the multi-draw raffles to ensure they are giving back as much as possible. Every cent raised at the luncheon events is donated directly towards the FREE service provided by Virtual Psychologist.

Virtual Psychologist is a free vital mental health support service for rural and remote people with qualified mental health professionals. Around half of the people with a mental health concern never access support, and most rural and remote people feel that face to face services are too confronting, inconvenient, or simply not available. Virtual Psychologist aims to break down those barriers by providing a text-based service for an hour-long session using a secure IT platform.
