Some people prefer the freedom of text counselling and the opportunity to review the notes on their phone after a session. Furthermore, smaller businesses often don’t have the resources, expertise or knowledge to manage employees with mental health problems.

Our research has shown that men find text counselling and coaching particularly appealing as they report that it is less confronting, less embarrassing and removes the stigma of asking for help. It is particular effective in areas where there is poor mobile phone reception for voice calls but SMS is still possible.
